Opioid Epidemic Downplayed by Coalition General

(Kabul Green Zone — Chasing the Dragon — August 27, 2016)

General Worthington Bulbous, a man who has issued orders from the safety of the rear in more than seventeen battle theaters says the rise in heroin use in the United States has nothing to do with Afghanistan.

It can be argued that the lengthy military involvement in the world’s leading producer of poppies has allowed more of the drug to enter Western markets. Once in these countries it is processed en masse creating easy acquisition and consumption among younger persons.

“That’s balderdash!” says Bulbous. “Our security forces examine everything going in and out of the war zone. Just because there are occasional sums of money unaccounted for and weapons that we can’t quite tally doesn’t mean we’re running a colander operation as our critics maintain.”

Bulbous refuses to consider the easy access to the drug in Afghanistan and the easily manipulated established air and sea routes preferred by CIA personnel, top military brass and the diplomatic corps. None of these groups is subject to search coming or going.

“Our people are not drug smugglers,” he glared. “It’s probably the Taliban and their supporters in the United States. “There is absolutely no one engaged in the smuggling of opium or heroin into the United States from Afghanistan on my watch. You have my word on it.”

Bulbous refused to comment when asked about the CIA operation that brought heroin by the truckloads into Vietnam during the 70s as part of a deal with several powerful mountain tribes up around the Golden Triangle. According to sparse reports Air America flew heavy cargos of quality heroin into Vietnam and Laos in return for military compromises and manpower support on the part of growers.

This and most other clandestine operations have been repeatedly denied by a host of puppet governments in Asia and in Washington.

Trump Seeks Asylum in Russian Consulate

(Atlantic City —  August 16, 2016) Republican Presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump has reportedly taken refuge in the Russian Consulate here. Close aides, disappearing by the day, say he plans to seek amnesty in an attempt to avoid releasing tax data.

Whether the move has anything to do with the closure of the Taj Mahal Casino, the billionaire would not say. Despite promising to bring jobs back to the United States Trump is actively shipping his casino (in pieces, sans employees) to Malaysia.

Election analysts think Trump has gone into hiding to avoid the fallout from his comments since winning the GOP nomination. Sources within the Secret Service are allegedly hard pressed to protect the demagogue since there are so many groups who might like to “interview” him.

“He has made more enemies in six weeks than Hitler and Stalin combined,” said one agent who demanded animosity. “Hillary is disliked but this Trump person has descended into a whole new category of unpopular. His mouth makes our job almost impossible to perform within the guidelines of security and diplomacy.”

The Russian diplomatic mission in New Jersey had no comment on the proceedings, denying knowledge of any amnesty requests. Whether Trump will seek the protection of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he has praised repeatedly during the campaign, was not discussed.

The drastic change of status could backfire on Trump since even the dumbest voters are vacillating over the development. Election officials are stunned and not sure what action to take in light of the repositioning. Many here feel Trump will go into self-imposed exile at his golf course in Scotland.

“The Scots aren’t keen on having him there either. Let’s just sit tight,” said one Democrat. “It’s only a matter of time before he offends the consulate staff and they throw him and his hair out on his ear.

Lady Golfers Round the World in Search of Birdie

Lady Golfers Round the World in Search of Birdie

Imagine teeing off in Istanbul and chipping onto the green in Hong Kong. How about skirting a water hazard in the Gobi Desert or sinking a long putt in Sydney? That’s what these two are doing this summer and it’s all for charity.

“We starred out in Montrose and hit golf balls all the way to the coast,” said Melanie Callaway, whose non-profit foundation provides free golf lessons to developing countries in return for caddie services.hit ball across the world

“Then, after resting at the beach for two weeks we hopped a luxury liner that had a small par three course and continued our philanthropic adventure,” quipped Evelyn Ping, a former WPGA standout, who has recorded 250 and 300 yard drives throughout the duos’ well-appointed trek through China and India.

“I always figured the entire landscape of the Mideast was like one big sand bunker but it’s not,” continued Callaway. “There are trees and people and buldings, well some parts of buildings, here in Baghdad and they say the green are in pretty bad shape in Syria too.”

Ping told the Horseshoe that the two women would most likely lay up in the Tel Aviv at the home of Ping’s aunt Delphine from Miami.

“We can hang by the pool until the situation in he Mideast takes care of itself,” said Callaway.

Following the slight inconvenience, Callaway and Ping will then head t.o Greece and Italy before turning northward into France , Ireland and of course Scotland.

Early September features stops at Augusta and several spectacular clubs along the Eastern seaboard and across the Midwest. Then the golfers will host a final fundraiser at Denver City Park in an attempt to get into the pockets of golfers from the lower socio-economic groups.

Good luck Melanie and Evelyn!
